NMSU Visit
September 21, 2018-College is an important milestone in any teens life, so the task of completing applications, earning scholarships, and getting accepted can weigh heavy on a teenagers shoulders. To help deliviate this stress, Irvin JROTC annually set ups a college tour with New Mexico State University. Cadets are provided an opportunity to interact with Cadets in NMSU’s ROTC program and ask for advice on the application process.
Unlike any other college tour, the NMSU Visit is filled with a big source of information on the application process and interactive activities for the cadets. Obstacle courses, rock wall climbing, and tug-a-war competitions allowed the Irvin Cadets to feel comfortable around the campus and consider what could potentially be there future. Other activities offered one-on-one guidance between Irvin Cadets and NMSU cadets like making a swiss seat. Lastly, cadets were able to bond with one another with their favorite activity yet, eating pizza.
